One of the founding principles of the United States is freedom of religion. This right is protected by the Constitution in Amendment I of the Bill of Rights.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code prohibits employers in Texas from any kind of religious discrimination against job applicants when hiring them, as well as any type of terms or conditions associated with their employment.
This includes all aspects of religious beliefs, practices, affiliations or observances. The law also protects agnostics and atheists.
